Mari Kermit-Canfield joins FLITE faculty as Reference and Instruction Librarian following an appointment at Indiana University's Prevention Resource Center. She has worked in music, education, and arts libraries at Penn State and Indiana University.

In addition to work in library science and music Kermit-Canfield spent time as a women's rights advocate and sexual assault awareness educator. Peer education and social marketing campaigns from Indiana University's Raising Awareness of Interactions in Sexual Encounters (RAISE) program have been the subject of international news coverage and resulted in several publications.

When not at the library Kermit-Canfield can be found roller skating or playing traditional Irish fiddle with bands The Culchies and Fleadh Circus.
