News from the Archives
Ever wondered about what Ferris was like in 1951? There was great growth both of enrollment and campus structures and discussions about issues similiar to tody. We are digitizing the Ferris Institute Newsletter on a blog so you can trace the history.
Welcome to the University Archives! Our mission is to preserve and present the historic record of Ferris State University and other specialized collections. These specialized collections include a regional history collection and materials relating to our programs and alumni.
Archival collections are not limited to printed documents. While we do have paper based materials, both published and unpublished, we have much more. Collections include photographs, tapes, records, films, videos and records in electronic form.
As part of our mission, we want to make materials available to the Ferris community and the general public. We have moved from the library into the Alumni Building-- a fitting move for our focus on historical collections. While our procedures and policies may differ from the library because of the specialized nature of the collections, we are here to help you.
We gladly accept donations for materials that fall within our collections policy.
