RefWorks Tutorial: Manual Reference / Citation Entry
The resource that you are using requires manual entry of citations into RefWorks.
Information taken from webpages, certain databases, videos, etc. can require that you fill in various fields to properly cite your source.
You will need to enter standard citation information into the correct fields. The required fields are indicated by a green check next to the field. The required fields may change, based on the citation style that is selected. A step by step guide for manual entry is provided below.
Step 1: After logging onto RefWorks, go to the top menu and select References. Click on Add New Reference.
Step 2: Select the citation style you want to use, and also be sure to indicate the type of reference it is that you are entering, such as journal, book, webpage, etc.
Step 3: Fill in all required citation fields. Required fields are indicated by green check marks. Once the citation information is entered, click on Save Reference if you have no more citations to enter. Click on Save & Add New if you do have more citations to enter.
Note: If you would like to get more information about the citation style that you have selected, scroll to the bottom of the manual entry screen.
Once you have saved your citation information, you are ready to work with your citations!!
