Off Campus Access

FLITE Distance Education Library Services

One of our missions at FLITE is to offer all off-campus students access to the high-quality research materials available through the library. FLITE's subscription databases are available to all current Ferris students, faculty, and staff, including off-campus students. Our Distance Education web site should help you with any questions you may have about reaching FLITE from wherever you are. Be sure to study it carefully and return to it often. If you experience problems logging on, please call (231) 591-2669 or (800) 4-FERRIS (ext. 2669).

The following article will require login with MyFSU ID. There is a shortcut to reach the "Find It" (Ex Libris/SFX) screen when the article citation is known. See this short movie for details. Using CitationLinker to track down an article (~3 minutes) - http://library.ferris.edu/tutorial/citationLinker_demo.swf.

Papers/Articles with ERIC ED/EJ designations

All papers showing an ERIC Document number (EDxxxxxx) designation are freely available. An easy way to download is to use the Department of Education sponsored version of ERIC - http://www.eric.ed.gov/

A PDF icon will appear at the end of each record. This will be the case with a few journal articles as well, although most EJ articles show only an abstract and not the full-text. (ERIC journals use the EJxxxxxx designation.) If you use this method, no login or "Find It" button is necessary. The two EJ articles are freely available through ERIC.

Cooley, V.E. (2006). Data-based decision making. Education Horizons, 85(1), 57-64. (EJ 750643).

Reeves, P.L. (2006). Challenges in data-based decision making. Education Horizons, 85(1), 65-71. (EJ 750644).

(If you do need to reach an EJxxxxxx article that is not available in full-text, Contact a Librarian.)
