Finding Articles
FLITE subscribes to several databases which provide articles originially published in magazines, journals, and newspapers that are not freely available on the Web. Remember that if you want to use FLITE databases from off-campus, click here for instructions on how to log-in. The following are the databases I recommend for your assignments:
Access World News
A product of NewsBank, Access World News contains the full-text of nearly 1700, mostly English-language, news sources from around the world. All titles may be searched at once or specific regions, countries, or states may be searched separately by clicking on the map.
American Decades
[Use for historical context] American Decades is a cross-disciplinary source for researchers who need a single, consistent reference to document and analyze periods of 20th Century American social history.
Biography in Context
Biography in Context includes full-text biographical information on over 500,000 people from antiquity to the present.
General OneFile
A very large full-text database with many millions of articles covering a myriad of subjects. Be sure to set the limit to documents with full-text.
Wilson OmniFile
This completely full-text database includes articles from a wide range of subject fields including science, humanities, education, and business. Coverage is from 1994 to the present.
Finding Books
For books in the circulating collection (Main Stacks), use the Online Catalog. Click on Subject and then type in the person's last name, first name.
