Academic OneFile
Academic OneFile is large database with broad subject coverage, containing many full-text resources. Resources include: articles from over 8,000 academic titles in numerous disciplines, magazine articles, information from reference books including subject-area encyclopedias, news from certain national and international newspapers and newsletters, as well as selected transcripts from television and radio broadcasts from NPR, CNN, & CBC, plus selected podcasts from these highly-regarded news sources! Suggestions to retrieve better/more results:
- Search topic as both a keyword and subject
- Combine terms with AND or OR
- Set date ranges limit to a specific time
- Use quotes for phrases
Other databases are sorted by subject from the Database Access page.
Please read Off Campus Database Access for information on searching from home.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan is a service provided by FLITE to request articles and books that FLITE does not own. Most often this service is used when searching for articles in FLITE databases, and you are directed through the "Find It" button to request the item. The first time you use this service, you will need to register with ILLiad, our Inter-Library Loan service. Click on the words "First Time Users" to register. You will complete a form, creating a username and password which will be used for future requests. Article requests are emailed to you in 5-10 business days (ferris email preferred).
