The online Foundation Directory, a product of the Foundation Center, contains information on more than 80,000 foundations, coporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities. Please note that database log-in is required to access The Foundation Directory from off-campus.

On this page from the Federal Register site, one can find application notices, requests for comment, etc. for a wide variety of educational grant resources sponsored by the Federal Government.
Grants.gov
A portal to all federal government grant-making agencies, this site allows one to find and apply for grants online.
PHPartners
This site links to opportunities for fellowships, grants and other awards in health related fields. Includes funding opportunities and resources related to proposal-writing from organizations such as National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, and the Center for Disease Control.

- Pay attention to the site you are on. A basic Web Evaluation can be consulted to evaluate the site.
- Use the Advanced Search option of search engines.
- Pay attention to the author and domain of the site.
- Watch for links to other sites- are the other sites creditable?
- Is the site cited?
Grant Newsletters
Many specialized grants newsletters can be found on the Web (In Google, type +grants +newsletters). The following are two examples.
Nonprofit Quarterly
The Nonprofit Quarterly offers a free online newsletter. On the left-hand side of the homepage, click on the link for Back Issues: e-Newsletter and then click on the individual issues linked on the left.
SchoolGrants Newsletters
SchoolGrants contains grant notices for K-12. Free sample copies are available for both the biweekly and bimonthly newsletters.
Also, many foundations publish online newsletters. In Google, type +foundation +newsletter to find a plethora of links.
