Xtender is a document imaging system. Documents can be scanned and stored for viewing or printing (limited due to security). Xtender is integrated with Banner so that documents associated with a person are accessible when that person's record is brought up. This application is also being used as an electronic "filing cabinet" in areas such as Accounting and Purchasing.
When I try to login, I get an error message that does NOT say I entered the wrong username/password, it says Multiple Logins are not allowed.
Error message will resemble the following picture:
This error occurs when you are trying to login to Xtender, but you are already logged in. Another reason for this is that you may currently have another window of Xtender open, or you did not log off properly the last time that you logged in.
Sessions will time out after 15 minutes. Once the session has timed out you will be able to login again. In the case of an emergency, contact the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) at X4822.
When I try to open a document that I found while searching, I get a Fund/Orgn security message.
Error message will resemble the following picture:
This error message occurs when you try to open a document that is attached to a Fund or Orgn number that you do not have access to in Banner. This message is usually seen within the Finance Applications (B-F-*).
If you believe you have received this message in error, please call Finance at x3909.
When I try to login to Xtender, I get a message saying that there are no licenses available.
Error message will resemble the following picture:
This error occurs when all of the licenses for Xtender are currently in use.
Licenses for Xtender are concurrent connection based licenses, so you will have to wait until another person logs out of Xtender. In an emergency, contact TAC at X4822.
When I try to login I get a message that says Invalid Username or Password, but the same username and password work for Ferris360.
A number of issues can cause this type of error. Generally, this error is caused by a password that is expired, or lack of remaining grace logins. The other issue that may cause this type of error is that your password may not have synchronized properly with Xtender.
If your password is expired, you must reset your password and then synchronize the new password to Xtender. In order to synchronize a password with Xtender, you must login to Internet Native Banner (INB) and click the Xtender button (it will be the Xs button on the left as there are two buttons for Xtender).
When I click on a document, it doesn't download to my computer.
The most likely reason for this to occur is that you do not have download prompts enabled on your web browser.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools. (Figure 1)
3. Select Internet Options. (Figure 1)

4. Choose the Security tab. (Figure 2)
5. Click Custom Level button. (Figure 2)

6. Scroll down to the Downloads section. (Figure 3)
7. Click the bubble to enable Automatic prompting for file downloads. (Figure 3)

Also on this page is the Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls under the ActiveX controls and plug-ins. This will help you in accessing Xtender and trying to download the ActiveX controls. (Figure 4)
