40-2219D-99
WHEREAS, the Florida Senate concludes that Florida
State University Professor Glayde Whitney's writings and utterances
are abhorrent and contravene and seek to undermine the basic rights
written in the State of Florida Constitution, its statutes, and
its policies,
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the Senate of

intolerant, and divisive teachings of Professor Glayde Whitney
as an affront to the values and morals of our state and nation,
and repudiates his views with this instrument of truth. The Florida
Senate hereby directs the Florida Board of Regents, the Chancellor
of the State University System, and the President of Florida State
University to conduct an investigation to determine whether Professor
Whitney is the recipient of State of Florida, United States Government,
or research grants from the racist Pioneer Fund, and whether taxpayer
funds are being used to further Professor Whitney's racist
theories, utterances and writings. The Florida Senate further
directs the Chancellor of the State University System to forward
a Report of its findings to the Governor, Cabinet, President and
Minority Leader of the Senate, and the Speaker and Minority Leader
of the House of Representatives, within sixty (60) days. Part
of these findings should include a statistical analysis to determine
whether Professor Whitney's philosophy has affected his evaluation
of student performance and grading.
