"The Ethnostate," The Beyondist vol. 1 No. 1 November 1993 p. 2.

Wilmot Robertson's The Ethnostate, offers a very timely supplement to the argument of the Beyondist. That is that a better organization of government would result if instead of large pluralistic states, like the former U.S.S.R. and the U.S.A., we had smaller groups more intensely uniform. The specifically racial uniformity which he argues for is not essential to Beyondism, but the organization of mankind in many smaller groups is.

The whole book is a repetition, with different illustrations of the greater respect for law, and the greater harmony of life for everyone, that occurs with a smaller more uniform group. Perhaps we have some statistical support for this in the finding that the number of political assassinations correlates positively with the size of the group. (See "How Good is Your Country" below.)

As for similarity of genetic and cultural make up bringing all the advantages that Robertson relates we have yet no directly scientific psychometric evidence. The only evidence on can cites is that on survival of marriages. The difference of break up and stable marriages is directly related to the measured similarity of the spouses (Cattell & Nesselroade, 1967). Marriage is a group of only two, but we can extrapolate to larger groups in this respect.

In any case the wide range of instances that Robertson brings to bear seems convincing to the careful reader. The practicality of forming such groups is another matter. The average size of an American state is optimum, but a continued extension of states' rights seems unlikely. Yet ethnostates cooperatively united in defense and certain broad common laws. Massachusetts, Illinois and Oregon are sufficiently different in spirit to give any citizen by migration the values that he values.

The Enthnostate is a book that every seriously thoughtful citizen should read and ponder upon.

"If, thanks to some beneficial mutation, man has the ability and the will to make some beneficial quantum jump into a higher evolutionary grade, the question arises: From what ethnic group will he emerge? Everyone, of course, will root for his home team. Members of the Northern European branch of the white race, who have been top dogs until recently, should make every effort to keep their group in the pink of mental and physical condition if they are not going to loose out permanently to the Japanese or members of some other Mongoloid race. As with gifted children who are singled out and assigned to advanced classes, so the more gifted members of every race should be provided with whatever is needed to help fulfill their individual and collective potential. It goes without saying that these special students should not have their education slowed by being forced to move at the pace of less capable and less astute learners. Gifted pupils often become so bored at the repetitive lessons required by the slow student that they may develop lifelong antipathy to education. At the same time, slow learners are made tragically aware of their own deficiencies by being compelled to compete with bright pupils. Rather than continue this hopelessly unequal battle, they drop out.

When we speak of intelligence we mean more than verbal acumen and quick thinking. We are also speaking of such important character traits as a fine sense of moral responsibility, /p. 9/ the ability to concentrate, and a serious attitude towards life. The absence of these and similar traits in a genius with an IQ of 180 could make him more of a menace than a book to mankind. It follows that the population group best qualified to produce the Übermensch [italic in original] will need much more than a high genetic quotient of intelligence."
