Bem Allen, Remembrance
Dr. Jerry Hirsch was one of my heroes. His was a voice crying in the wilderness about the cancer of racism among academics. Jerry was a scientist par excellent. He alone among those writing and researching the role of genes in intelligence was actually trained by top geneticists. Had we better followed his example and listened to his voice we would not now still be obsessing about race during a presidential campaign.
