Wireless Standards Recommendations

  1. The 802.11b and 802.11g protocols are supported.
  2. If your device is 802.11n compatible, it should work with our access points, but we cannot guarantee proper and efficient operation.
  3. New access points shall be configured by IS&T staff.
  4. Non-residential facilities shall not install wireless access points without approval and coordination with IS&T.
  5. In on-campus residential facilities, wireless routers are not allowed.
  6. IS&T will keep a master list of the location, owner, and configuration of each access point on campus.
  7. The Clean Access client is required for authentication within resident halls. The Clean Access client software is provided by Ferris.
