General Printing Services The end user chooses a printer object when they need to print. Therefore, the object name needs to be descriptive enough so they know 1)the location of the printer, 2)what type of printer it is, and 3)what model it is. This information will let them select the printer that is located near them and, if necessary, allow them to choose the correct printer driver. The following naming convention will accomplish this: 3 characters for bldg. 5 characters for room dash, mfg./model color (opt.) Example:
