Get Connected. Stay Connected.

iConnect is the process in which a Student Technology Services technician performs all of the necessary tasks of connecting your computer to the Ferris State University Network. This is done through a series of installations of software required to access the network, along with other software adjustments to make your computer ready to access the network. During this process any previously installed anti-virus solutions will be removed to prevent software conflicts. Please note that iConnect is available for the Big Rapids Main Campus only.

Each year, during move-in week, Student Technology Services hosts a week-long event for on-campus students. During this event, Student Technology Services technicians assemble in the residence halls and iConnect student computers absolutely free of charge. In addition, students are able to purchase optional hardware and software that is available in order to make the most of their networking experience in the residence halls.

In the event that you miss the event, you can either bring your computer here to Student Technology Services and we will, for a small fee, iConnect it for you, or you can download and attempt to install the required software from our website. The software is available to Ferris State University students and is free of charge. If you are living off-campus, this software is not required. However, if you wish to bring your computer on-campus, you will first need to download the software in able to access the FSU Network.
