Student Staff Positions:

Community Advisor (CA)

Community Advisors (CA) work in our Apartment Communities as live-in paraprofessional staff members. The primary responsibilities of this position are community development, safety & security of our apartment communities, and administrative tasks for multiple aspects of each apartment & apartment community. This position is a 12-month position, running from July to July. Applicants must be a student at Ferris State University for at least one academic year before applying for this position.

Desk Services Manager (DSM)

Desk Services Managers (DSM) work at a specific desk location as live-in paraprofessional staff members. The primary responsibilities of the position are management of a specific desk staff, strong customer service, development of desk services, and safety & security of our residence hall communities. This position is a 10-month position, running from August to May. Previous experience as a Desk Services Assistant (DSA), Resident Advisor (RA) or Community Advisor (CA) is strongly preferred. Applicants must be a student at Ferris State University for at least one academic year before applying for this position.

Resident Advisor (RA)

Resident Advisors (RA) work in our Residence Hall Communities as live-in paraprofessional staff members. The primary responsibilities of this position are community development within your assigned hall community, your assigned house community, confrontation of resident behaviors & actions, and safety & security of our residence hall communities. This position is a 10-month position, running from August to May. Applicants must be a student at Ferris State University for at least one academic year before applying for this position.

Selection Reminders:

All Student Staff Applicants must have earned a minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA for consideration of employment.
Student Staff Employees must maintain a 2.25 Semester GPA and 2.5 Cumulative GPA during employment.
Previous to completing a Student Staff Application Form; be sure to understand the responsibilities and commitment involved in each position you apply for.
All selection & hiring correspondence; including offers of employment/student staff position; will be sent via FSU Email. Please be certain your FSU Email account is working properly and you check your account frequently.
If offered employment/student staff position, you must have appropriate identification and bank information available to complete job acceptance paperwork. (Must be official, government issued documents)

Residence Hall Front Desk and Night Security Staff Position:

Desk Services Assistant/Night Security Staff (DSA)

Desk Services Assistants (DSA) work at a specific desk location as part-time student staff members. The primary responsibilities of the position are providing strong customer service for our residents; as well as safety & security of our residence hall communities. Applicants must be a student assigned and residing in the building in which they apply. DSAs must remain residing in the same building as which they work in order to remain employed with the front desk
