Options for student that are 20 or older

Ferris State University policy states that all students that are not 20 years old by the first day of classes must live on campus. Some students live on campus who are eligible to live off campus, and we encourage you to stay in our on campus housing during your time at Ferris State University. Here are some special options for students who wish to stay on campus for a longer period of time:

Masselink Suites - Sweet deal!

Students who have met the criteria to move off campus have the opportunity to live in Masselink Hall and receive an entire PRIVATE SUITE for the cost of a private room. This option has an added value of approximately $2,631.

Finch Court Townhouses

You also have the option of applying for a townhouse in Finch Court in the West Campus Apartments. Finch Court is being converted to single student housing and offers a combination of 2 and 3 bedroom units. The cost for 2006 - 2007 will be $425 per student, per month based upon each student having a private bedroom. This includes:

- Utilities - Data connectivity connection
- Local Phone - Priate locks on student bedrooms
- Unfinished basement with laundry - Appropriate use of West Campus
- Cable TV hook up Community Center Facilities

North Bond Hall

A more traditional option is for students to live in North Bond Hall. North Bond provides exclusively single rooms for nontraditional students (21 years and older). Single rooms are an additional $900 per semester. There are rooms available to accomodate students with disabilities. Students in this hall ONLY may select from the Top Dog Express, Big Dog Express or Commuter meal plans; or any one of the traditional meal plans (19, 15 or 12); or opt to have no meal plan.

Bond Hall rooms are carpeted, with telephone (private line with campus voice mail), an internet connection, 80" twin bunk bed set, 1 desk with bookshelf and chair, 1 wardrobe cabinet with 2 drawers, and a dresser. Students share a bathroom with a suitemate. Vertical blinds cover the 60" x 51" window.

Off-Campus Cautions - BEWARE -

If you are considering moving off campus, please take the time to research what you are really getting for your money. Many off-campus properties DO NOT include the cost of utilities, which have skyrocketed! It's also common for some of the other services that are included ON CAMPUS to NOT be included in the advertised rental rates off-campus. In addition to the cost of utilities, Internet, and cable TV, it is also important for you to assess the true cost of preparing your own meals and traveling to and from the campus.
