Residence Halls - Choices

Ferris State University offers a number of residence hall options to accommodate your preferences. All Ferris residence halls are completely smoke free. All rooms have connections for 100 MB internet and cable television. A phone with voicemail is also included in each room. Each floor in all halls are equipped with laundry facilities as well as a small kitchenette. Below is a list of the FSU residence halls indicating their designations for the 2007/2008 school year.
 

Bond, North & South

Bond Hall Located on West Campus, North & South Bond is located across from Center Ice Food Court.

North Bond is coed by suite and has three floors providing exclusively single rooms for nontraditional students (20 years and older). Single rooms are an additional $900 per semester. There are rooms available to accommodate students with special needs. South Bond is coed by suite and has three floors. South Bond houses freshmen through seniors.

Students in this hall ONLY, may select from the Top Dog Express, Big Dog Express or Commuter meal plans; or any one of the traditional meal plans (19, 15 or 12); or opt to have no meal plan.

North & South Bond Hall rooms are carpeted with a 80" twin bunk bed set, 2 desks each with bookshelf and chair, 2 wardrobe cabinets each with 2 drawers, and a dresser. North Bond has one set of furniture per room. Vertical blinds cover the 60" x 51" window. Every room has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Brophy & McNerney

Brophy and McNerney Located on South Campus, directly across from the Rock Cafe. Brophy and McNerney halls are connected by a large common lobby and front desk. Each hall has three floors which are coed by suite. These halls house freshmen through seniors. Students in these halls must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Brophy and McNerney rooms are furnished with a standard twin 76" bunk bed set, 2 desks each with bookshelf and chair, 2 wardrobe cabinets with 2 drawers, and a dresser. Curtains cover the 60" x 51" window. Every room has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Carlisle

Carlisle Hall Located on North Campus. This Honors hall has four floors, is coed by suite and has all private rooms (an additional $900 per semester). As an Honors Hall, Carlisle is designed to support excellence in academic achievement. Residency is by invitation only and is determined by select criteria through the Honors Program. Carlisle houses freshmen through seniors. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Carlisle rooms are furnished with dark oak bedroom furniture and carpeting. Each room has a twin 80" bed, a desk with bookshelf and chair, wardrobe cabinet with 2 drawers, and a dresser. Vertical blinds cover the 60" x 51" window. Every room has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Clark

Clark Hall Located on North Campus. This hall is coed by suite and has three floors. The 2nd and 3rd floors of Clark houses our First Year Experience program, which provides a unique opportunity for first year students who would like to enhance their leadership skills, prepare for a lifetime of learning, and participate in service-learning initiatives. Clark's 1st floor will house the Student Leadership and Development Program, known as SLED. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Clark rooms are furnished with a standard twin 76" bunk bed set, 2 desks each with bookshelf and chair, 2 wardrobe cabinets with 2 drawers, and a dresser. Curtains cover the 60" x 51" window. Every room has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Cramer

Cramer Hall Located on West Campus. This suite-style hall is coed by suite (4 residents per suite) and houses freshmen through seniors. Each suite has a bedroom, bathroom, study room and living room. It has eleven floors with 2 elevators. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Cramer suites are furnished with 2 sets of standard 80" bunk beds, 2 dressers and two closets. An additional closet is located in the living room. The study has desks with desk drawers and chairs. The 60" x 51" windows are covered with curtains. Each suite has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Hallisy

Hallisy Hall Located on North Campus. This hall has four floors and is coed by suite. It houses freshmen through seniors. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Hallisy rooms are furnished with a an 76 " bunk bed, 2 desks each with bookshelf and chair, 2 wardrobe cabinets with 2 drawers, and a dresser. Vertical blinds cover the 60" x 51" window. Every room has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Helen Ferris

Helen Ferris Located on North Campus. This Honors hall has four floors, is coed by suite and has all private rooms (an additional $900 per semester). Henderson-Puterbaugh Located on West Campus. This Honors hall has four floors, is coed by suite and has all private rooms (an additional $900 per semester). As an Honors hall, Henderson is designed to support excellence in academic achievement. Residency is by invitation only and is determined by selected criteria through the Honors Program.

Masselink, East & West

Masselink Located on North Campus. These coed halls offer an entire suite at the same cost as a private room (an additional $900 per semester). It has three floors per hall with rooms available for students with special needs. Priority is given to students 20 years of age and older. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

In Masselink suites, one room is furnished with a standard 76 " twin bed, a desk with bookshelf and a chair, wardrobe cabinet with 2 drawers and a dresser. The other room in the suite is not furnished. Curtains cover the 60" x 51" window. Every suite has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Merrill & Travis

Merrill Hall Located on South Campus. Merrill and Travis are connected by a common lobby and front desk. Each hall has three floors and rooms are coed by suite. These halls house freshmen through seniors. Students in these halls must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Miller

Miller Hall Located on South Campus, Miller Hall is the home of the Health, Wellness and Substance Free program. Students who join the Health, Wellness, and Substance Free community will be provided a variety of programs and leadership opportunities revolving around a healthy lifestyle that include the opportunity to participate in intramural sports, connections with health and wellness related clubs and organizations, alcohol-free alternative programming, academic success programs, as well as many other opportunities.

All residents of Miller Hall will sign a behavioral contract agreeing to adhere to an environment free of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. This agreement is the lynchpin of our program’s success, and failure to meet its expectations may lead to being moved from Miller Hall.

This hall houses freshmen through seniors. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan. Miller has three floors, all coed by suite. The rooms are furnished with a standard 76" twin bunk bed set, 2 desks each with bookshelf and chair, 2 wardrobe cabinets with 2 drawers and a dresser. Curtains cover the 60"x 51"window. Every room has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Pickell

Pickell Hall Located on South Campus. This four floor hall is coed by suite. It has rooms available for students with special needs. Pickell houses freshman through seniors. Students in this hall may select from the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Pickell rooms are furnished with a standard 76" twin bed, a desk with a bookshelf and chair, a wardrobe cabinet with 2 drawers, and a dresser. Rooms with double occupancy have double furniture. Curtains cover the 60" x 51" window. Every room has a phone with campus voicemail, cable TV, and ethernet connection.

 

Puterbaugh

Puterbaugh LobbyLocated on West Campus. This Honors hall has four floors, is coed by suite and has all private rooms (an additional $900 per semester). As an Honors hall, Puterbaugh is designed to support excellence in academic achievement. Residency is by invitation only and is determined by selected criteria through the Honors Program.
This hall houses freshman through seniors. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Taggart

Taggart Hall

Located on South Campus. This hall has four floors and is coed by suite. This hall has rooms available for students with special needs and houses freshmen through seniors. Taggart also houses some students in the Graphic Design program. Graphic Design also has a special design lab available to students in this program. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.

Vandercook

Vandercook Hall Located on North Campus. This hall has three floors and is coed by suite. It houses freshmen through seniors. Students in this hall must select either the 19, 15 or 12 meal plan.
