CLARK HALL

A New Approach to Living and Learning

Sophomore Leadership Experience and Development (SLED)

The SLED House is a new residential community which will be housed on the 1st floor of Clark Hall. The mission of this new program is to allow second year students an opportunity to enhance the leadership skills they've developed during their first year at Ferris. In addition, the SLED program will offer leadership and mentoring opportunities to first year students in the FYE program on the second and third floors of Clark Hall.

The SLED program will not only promote leadership and involvement, but will also ensure student success as they progress through their degree requirements. Clark Hall is a supportive living-learning environment that utilizes the rich resources available here at Ferris and in the Big Rapids community.

Some of the exciting opportunities SLED House participants will be able to engage in include:
  • Gaining leadership career-enhancing skills
  • Participating in the facilitation of one or more programs for the FYE participants
  • Participating in House Board programming and Academic Initiatives
  • Becoming an active member in a Registered Student Organization
  • Make lifelong friends!
  • SLED Syllabus

Applications will be available late Fall or early Winter Semester. Please return application materials with your Fall Housing Contract. The SLED Program is limited to 40 spaces. Please understand that the return of the SLED application does not guarantee you a space in the program.
