Job DescriptionFerris State University Hall Directors
provide comprehensive supervision of 1 to 2 residence
halls. HDs recruit, select, train and supervise residence
hall staff including 6 to 15 Resident
Advisors, 1 to 3 Desk
Services Managers and 15-30 desk
and security personnel at each desk. HDs actively participate
in the leadership of departmental and University-wide committees.
HDs manage facilities, advise Hall Council, train student
staff, coordinate programming and community development
and provide the overall leadership for the academic, social
and emotional development of our students. In addition,
all HDs serve as judicial
hearing officers adjudicating cases and recommending
educational outcomes up to and including dismissal from
the University.
