Your R.S.O. Survival Guide!

If you are a member of one (or more!) of the Registered Student Organizations at Ferris State University, this site has all the information you need to keep your organization registered and to be successful at Ferris!

RSO Handbook: A copy of the current RSO Handbook can be downloaded in .pdf format. You will need Adobe's Acrobat Reader to view the file.

Funding Options

Every Ferris student pays a $20.00 Student Activity Fee each semester, a portion of which is then allocated for student programs by the Finance Division of Student Government. Any RSO in good standing is eligible to apply for programming funds to implement campus activities. These can include concerts, conferences, dances, fundraising events, service projects, speakers, and other campus activities for students. The Division of Finance meets bi-weekly during Fall and Winter semesters, and monthly as needed Summer semester. To apply for funds or committee membership, visit Rankin Center 160 or call 591-5936.

Leadership and Organization Consultation

Student organizations and their advisors are welcome to contact the Office of Student Leadership & Activities for advice on leadership and organization issues. The Director and other Student Affairs staff are experienced in issues related to budgeting, conflict resolution, event planning, fundraising, goal setting, motivation, recruitment, university policies, and other subjects. Individual meetings or officer retreats are available upon request.

Risk Management Education

RSOs hosting events where alcoholic beverages will be consumed must participate in the RSO Risk Management Education program each year. This one-hour workshop keeps student leaders and advisors informed of liability issues and provides useful tips for social hosts.
