Andrea Beck-Jones
Secretary II
Andrea Beck-Jones is Secretary Level II (Administrative Assistant II) for the Office
of Multicultural Student Services. She provides administrative support to three office
staff as well as train student assistants. Andrea works one-on-one with various students,
staff, organizations, and community members to improve the services of the Office
of Multicultural Student Services and raise awareness.
The Office of Multicultural Student Services has four staff members that serve as
the University's primary area that coordinates activities in support of personal,
academic and cultural programs, and activities offered to assist students with their
transition to campus. Andrea is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
She relies on 15 plus years of familiarity and judgment to plan and achieve goals
and performs a mixture of responsibilities to continue to make the campus diverse.
Andrea currently serves as mentor / advisor to MySKI (My Sister’s Keeper), National
member of National Society of Black Engineers, and a National member of the National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Andrea is an alumnus of Ferris
State University. She graduated with the following: Associates in Administrative Assistant,
1997, Bachelors of Science, Business Administration, 2009. She is currently working
on the MCTE (Masters In Career Technical Education) with a concentration on Instruction
with a certificate in Supervision. She currently lives in Big Rapids, Michigan and
looks forward to helping students and the residents of Big Rapids. Raising awareness
