Ferris State Defeats Grand Valley State To Reach Regional Final

The Ferris State men's tennis team advanced to the regional finals with a 5-0 win over Grand Valley State Thursday (May 5) in the 2005 NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region First and Second Round Men's Tennis Tournament held at FSU's Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids, Mich.

The nation's 35th-ranked Bulldogs claimed all three doubles flights and won both the numbers three and four singles spots against the Lakers. FSU improved to 12-9 overall this campaign while GVSU concluded its season with a 16-10 overall mark.

Ferris State, which is midst its 11th NCAA Division II Tournament bid, will face Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) member Southern Indiana on Friday (May 6) at 2 p.m. (EDT) in the regional title match.

Friday's regional champion will earn a berth into the 16-team single elimination national championship field slated for May 11-14 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
