NFCA Division II Preseason Top 25

Defending national champion Humboldt State (CA) received seven of eight
first-place votes and was the No. 1 pick in the NFCA Division II Preseason
Top 25 Coaches Poll. Humboldt State garnered 199 out of a possible 200
points. The NFCA Division II Top 25 is voted on by eight Division II coaches,
representing the eight NCAA Division II regions. The top three teams in this year's preseason poll are the same top
three in last year's final Division II poll. Last year's national
runner-up Nebraska-Kearney totaled 190 points for second place. Kennesaw
State (GA), which received the remaining first-place vote, finished third
with 186 points. West Florida placed fourth with 175 points. California (PA) and North
Dakota State, which tied for fifth at last year's national finals, tied
for fifth in the preseason poll with 159 points apiece. The first regular season poll will be released on March 15. (First-place votes are in parentheses. Records are from 1999.) Others receiving votes: Shippensburg (PA) 14, Lewis (IL) 13,
