NFCA Release

Defending national champion Humboldt State (CA) received seven of eight first-place votes and was the No. 1 pick in the NFCA Division II Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll. Humboldt State garnered 199 out of a possible 200 points.

The NFCA Division II Top 25 is voted on by eight Division II coaches, representing the eight NCAA Division II regions.

The top three teams in this year's preseason poll are the same top three in last year's final Division II poll. Last year's national runner-up Nebraska-Kearney totaled 190 points for second place. Kennesaw State (GA), which received the remaining first-place vote, finished third with 186 points.

West Florida placed fourth with 175 points. California (PA) and North Dakota State, which tied for fifth at last year's national finals, tied for fifth in the preseason poll with 159 points apiece.

The first regular season poll will be released on March 15.
