Becker Notches 200th Career Coaching Victory

Bulldog Softball Coach Is Ferris' All-Time Winningest Coach

Keri BeckerFerris State University softball coach Keri Becker recorded her 200th career coaching victory last Friday (May 3) at the 2002 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Softball Tournament in Ashland, Ohio.

Becker reached the coaching milestone with Ferris State's 5-4 triumph over the Hillsdale Chargers as the Bulldogs finished with a 3-2 tourney record.

The program's all-time winningest coach, Becker has compiled a current 201-125 overall record (.617 winning pct.) in six seasons at FSU. She has averaged over 33 victories per season during her coaching career while guiding the Bulldogs to two consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament appearances (1998 and 1999).

The 1997 GLIAC Coach-of-the-Year, Becker has led Ferris to two first-place GLIAC Tournament (1999-00) finishes along with a conference overall championship title (2000) for the first time since 1982.

Becker has totaled 90 more coaching wins than the program's next winningest coach - Monica Folske. Folske registered a 111-87 coaching mark (.561 winning pct.) in eight seasons at the helm.
