Ferris State University's scheduled softball contests at the Great Lakes Region Showdown this weekend (March 25-26) in Battle Creek, Mich., have been cancelled due to weather and wet field conditions. Subsequently, the games won't be rescheduled.

Ferris State was then going to participate in the Wayne State Softball Tournament this weekend (March 25-26) at the WSU Softball Fields in Detroit, Mich., but inclement weather has also forced the cancellation of the tournament.

The Diamond Dawgs were scheduled to play four non-conference outings against teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) at the Wayne State Tourney.

Ferris State, under eighth-year head coach Keri Becker, went undefeated in its four contests at last weekend's (March 19-20) Lewis Tournament in Romeoville, Ill. The Diamond Dawgs have won six of their last seven outings to date and presently are 7-7-0 overall this season.

The next action for the Bulldogs will be their season home opener Wednesday, March 30, against the Wayne State University Warriors in a non-league doubleheader at the FSU Varsity Softball Field in Big Rapids, Mich. The opening contest will start at 3 p.m. (EST) with the nightcap to follow about 20 minutes upon conclusion of the first game.
