FERRIS' RISKOVITCH TABBED GLIAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lindsay Riskovitch Ferris State University softball junior second baseman Lindsay Riskovitch (Reese) has been tabbed as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Softball Player of the Week (Apr. 18) for her efforts in last week's eight-game span.

The conference weekly honor represents the first in her career and she joins junior outfielder Emily McLean (Rogers City) as fellow Ferris State GLIAC Player of the Week honorees this season.

Riskovitch batted a team-leading .409 average (nine-for-22) and had an .818 slugging percentage in the eight contests while registering a .943 fielding percentage with 19 putouts and 14 assists. She cracked two doubles and triples apiece to go with a home run and a team-high 10 RBIs.

The 5-6 infielder hit safely in six of the eight games and compiled a pair of multiple-hit game performances, including a three-for-three effort at Gannon (Apr. 16) which included a two-run home run in a 6-4 victory over the Golden Knights. Prior to that contest, Riskovitch went two-for-two at the plate with a double and triple and drove in a run at Tiffin (Apr. 15). She recorded three RBIs in each game of a doubleheader at Gannon (Apr. 16) and then knocked in two more runs on a double in game one at Mercyhurst (Apr. 17).

This season, Riskovitch is hitting a personal career-high .314 with 27 base hits in 86 at bats. She also has established career single-season bests in RBIs (21), doubles (four), triples (four) and home runs (four) this spring in 29 outings. Riskovitch has a .593 slugging percentage and a .970 fielding percentage this campaign. She also has generated five multi-hit game efforts and a team-leading six multi-RBI outings.

Riskovitch has produced a career .248 batting average to date in 115 contests with 78 hits in 314 official plate appearances. She has eight doubles, five triples and home runs apiece and 43 RBIs while notching a .933 fielding percentage with 270 putouts and 244 assists.

The Bulldogs, who are 16-16-0 overall and 7-5 in the GLIAC to date, will entertain the Cornerstone Golden Eagles this Tuesday (April 19) in a non-conference twinbill at the FSU Varsity Softball Field in Big Rapids, Mich. The first game will begin at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) with game two to follow 20 minutes after the opener's conclusion.
