Sophomore outfielder Jessie Wright (Sand Lake/Tri-County) batted .500 with three RBI's against Wisconsin-Parkside. She recorded three total base hits, including a pair of doubles, while registering a .833 slugging percentage in the non-conference doubleheader.
Senior pitcher Amanda Opbroek (Sanford/Sanford-Meridian) pitched a two-hit complete-game shutout in Ferris State's 6-0 opening-game non-league home triumph over Wisconsin-Parkside Tuesday (March 25). Opbroek struck out eight Ranger batters in the contest while posting a hit apiece in both games and an RBI in the nightcap.
The Bulldogs have combined to score 18 runs in their last six outings to date after producing only six runs in their previous six contests. FSU has totaled 10 or more hits in five games this season, including an 11-hit effort versus Wisconsin-Parkside in its last contest.
Freshman infielder Emily McLean (Rogers City), who has registered six hits in five appearances this season, leads the Bulldogs with a .429 batting average to date.
Amanda Opbroek has compiled a 5-3 (.625) mark in eight pitching appearances to date. She has pitched six complete games and presently has 45 strikeouts this campaign. Opbroek has won four of her last five decisions to date.
