Senior catcher Krystle Bailey and Ferris State will now open the home portion of its 2009 schedule this Monday (March 30) against Grand Valley State.

The nationally-ranked Ferris State University softball team's 2009 season home-opening doubleheader scheduled for this Sunday (March 29) afternoon against the Grand Valley State Lakers has been postponed as a result of cold weather forecasts in the Big Rapids, Mich., area.

The Bulldogs' Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener will now be held this Monday (March 30) at the FSU Softball Field in Big Rapids. Game one is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) while the second game is scheduled to commence around 5:30 p.m. (EDT).

Ferris State, which is coached by 12th-year head coach Keri Becker, is currently 14-2 overall this season after sweeping a non-conference doubleheader versus Cornerstone last Thursday (March 26) at Grand Rapids, Mich.

Fans who attend this Monday's (March 30) home opener will receive a free t-shirt and hot dogs.

The Bulldogs will enter the twinbill ranked sixth in the nation according to the latest (March 25) National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 Poll.
