SATURDAY SOFTBALL DOUBLEHEADER MOVED TO BIG RAPIDS
Bulldogs & Lakers Move Series' South Of The Bridge
The Ferris State University softball team's scheduled Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader at Lake Superior State on Saturday, April 19, has been moved to Big Rapids due to LSSU's field condition from recent weather activity over the weekend in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. The announcement was made by FSU head coach Keri Becker.
The first game between the Bulldogs and the Lakers will commence at 1 p.m. (EDT) with the second contest to follow approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first outing at the FSU Varsity Softball Field.
LSSU has also moved its Sunday (April 20) doubleheader versus Grand Valley State to GVSU's field in Allendale in order to play both league twinbills this coming weekend.
Ferris State, which has won 13 of its last 16 outings to date this campaign, currently holds a 18-11 overall record and is 9-3 in GLIAC action this campaign. Prior to Saturday's outing against LSSU, the Bulldogs will first host archrival GVSU Wednesday (April 19) for two league games starting at 3:30 p.m. (EDT).
Wednesday's tilt versus Grand Valley State represents FSU's K-12 Student Day promotion. The first 25 students in grades K-12 will receive free tshirts along with the first 25 FSU students who present a valid Bulldog identification card. In addition, all kids in attendance will have an opportunity to run the bases after the game and also participate in pitching and batting skills competitions within the batting cages at the FSU complex.
Admission to both of this week's doubleheaders is free and parking is available near the facility.
