FERRIS SOFTBALL TO HOLD K-12 STUDENT DAY THIS WEDNESDAY

Special Promotions Planned For GLIAC Doubleheader Against Grand Valley State

The Ferris State University softball team will hold K-12 Student Day in conjunction with this Wednesday's (April 16) Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader versus archrival Grand Valley State at the FSU Varsity Softball Field in Big Rapids, Mich.

FSU Softball The first game gets underway at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) with the second game of the twinbill slated to begin approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.

As part of the K-12 Student Day promotion, the first 25 students in grades K-12 will receive free tshirts along with the first 25 FSU students who present a valid Bulldog identification card.

In addition, all kids in attendance will have an opportunity to run the bases after the game and also participate in pitching and batting skills competitions within the batting cages at the FSU complex.

Admission to the doubleheader is free and parking is available near the facility.

Ferris State, which has won 13 of its last 16 outings to date this campaign, currently holds a 18-11 overall record and is 9-3 in GLIAC action this campaign. Both the Bulldogs and the Lakers rank among the top three teams in the league standings this season as GVSU maintains a 21-8 overall mark and is 6-2 in conference competition heading into Wednesday's doubleheader. The Lakers are fifth and Ferris ninth in the current NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Rankings.
