Ferris State Women's Soccer Notes

The Ferris State women's soccer team, which is currently 4-2-0 overall, ends an 18-day layoff with a visit to Northwood this Thursday (Oct. 2) for a 2 p.m. (EDT) league encounter in Midland, Mich. FSU will then host Saginaw Valley State this Sunday (Oct. 5) with match time slated for 1 p.m. (EDT) at the FSU Varsity Soccer Field in Big Rapids, Mich.

The Bulldogs have compiled a 0-3-1 all-time record to date versus the Timberwolves. FSU is presently 0-1-1 against Northwood in Midland after earning a 2-2 tie (10/9/01) in the last meeting at NU.

Ferris State is 1-1-2 in four previous contests against Saginaw Valley State, including a 1-1-0 record in Big Rapids. Ferris has registered either a win or tie in the last three meetings between the two schools.

Three of Ferris' next four contests are away from home. The Bulldogs will then play four of their final seven matches this campaign at the FSU Varsity Soccer Field.

The Bulldogs have won four of their last five road outings and are presently 3-0 away from home this campaign. Meanwhile, Ferris has posted a 2-3 mark in its last five home contests dating back to last season.

FSU's current 4-2-0 mark ranks as the school's second-best record in its initial six games of a campaign. The 2000 squad opened the year with a 4-1-1 mark before finishing 8-7-1 overall.

Ferris State has scored only three goals in its last two contests (1.5 gpg) to date after totaling 13 goals in its first four outings (3.25 gpg) this campaign.

Sophomore forward Lisa O'Brian's (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix) seven goals to date this campaign ranks fifth on FSU's single-season chart and is four shy of tying the school's single-season record (11) posted by current FSU senior forward Emily Rogers during both the 2000 and 2002 campaigns.

Senior forward Emily Rogers (Traverse City/Central) currently has 93 career points and is seven shy of notching her 100th career point. The 5-6 Rogers presently is Ferris' career leader in both points and goals (35). Her six assists to date this campaign currently ranks second among the school's single-season leaders.
