FERRIS' WINNING STREAK COMES TO AN END IN 4-0 LOSS AT TIFFIN
The Ferris State women's soccer team was held scoreless for the third time this season as the Bulldogs' two-match winning string came to a halt with a 4-0 loss to Tiffin (Ohio) this Friday (Sept. 26) afternoon in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tilt at UT's Paradiso Fields in Tiffin, Ohio.
The Dragons (7-1; 3-1 GLIAC) wasted little time in breaking a scoreless tie by scoring in the fifth minute of the match off a rebound shot by Deidre Abouahmed. The Bulldogs (3-4; 2-2 GLIAC) saw their deficit increase to 2-0 in the 34th minute on the first of two Renee Cain goals.
Tiffin would add to its lead early in the second half as Cain found the Bulldog goal for the second time in the 52nd minute. The Dragons rounded out the scoring in the 85th minute on Vickie Galaska's unassisted tally.
For the match, Tiffin registered 13 total shots to the Bulldogs' three total. The Dragons held a 9-2 advantage in the opening 45 minutes of the contest.
Sophomore goalkeeper Becci Houdek (Canton) finished with seven saves in absorbing the loss for Ferris State.
