FERRIS STATE RANKED NINTH IN MIDWEST REGION WOMEN'S SOCCER POLL

Bulldogs Conclude Home Regular-Season Schedule This Weekend

The Ferris State women's soccer team has earned a ninth-place Midwest Region ranking in the latest NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Poll, which was released Wednesday (Oct. 15) by the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee.

The Bulldogs, who are presently 5-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to date, have compiled a 5-5-1 in-region record.

Grand Valley State is listed in first place while the other GLIAC team ranked among the 10 regional teams is Tiffin and Saginaw Valley State, which are listed fifth and eighth respectively.

The final regular-season poll will be published Tuesday, Oct. 28, and championship selections will take place on Monday, Nov. 10.

Ferris State, under third-year head coach Neathan Gibson, will wrap up the home portion of its 2008 regular-season schedule this weekend with a pair of GLIAC matches. The Bulldogs entertain the Tiffin Dragons this Friday (Oct. 17) in a 4 p.m. (EDT) contest at the FSU Soccer Field in Big Rapids, Mich. FSU then hosts the Findlay Oilers this Sunday (Oct. 19) at noon (EDT) in the regular-season home finale.
