Ferris State's eight overall victories this season represents the program's most since the 2005 campaign when the Bulldogs compiled an 11-7-0 overall ledger.
|Sophomore Megan Stec posted her first collegiate goal on a penalty kick and also had an assist at Northwood last Sunday (10/26).
Freshman midfielder Maegan Smith (Hickory Corners/Kalamazoo Christian) has compiled three game-winning goals this season, including in each of the Bulldogs' last two matches at Saginaw Valley State (10/24) and at Northwood (10/26). Smith has generated a combined six goals in FSU's last five matches to date with 12 total points during that period. She has registered two goals apiece in two contests this fall - vs. Northern Michigan (10/12) and at Northwood (10/26). Smith currently leads the Bulldogs with seven goals this season which also represent her 2008 season's points total.
Senior forward Tammy Unsworth (White Lake/Walled Lake Northern) is midst a current three-match point streak and has garnered six points (2-1=6) in her last three outings. Unsworth's assist at Northwood Sunday (10/26) marked the 21st helper of her career and moved the FSU co-captain into a tie for second place on the Bulldogs' all-time assists leaders chart with Kristie Smilanich (2004-07; 21 career assists).
Senior defender Julia Zilan's (Wixom) four points (1-2=4) in 16 matches this season already equals her output of four points (2-0=4) in 19 outings for the 2007 campaign. She netted her initial goal of the 2008 season at Saginaw Valley State (10/24) with a second-half score.
Sophomore midfielder Megan Stec (Novi) posted her first collegiate goal with a second-half tally at Northwood (10/26) on a penalty kick and also garnered an assist in the GLIAC match. Stec's two points (1-1=3) in 15 matches this season surpasses her two points (0-2=2) in 17 contests a season ago.
During its current three-match winning streak, Ferris State has outscored its opponent by a 9-3 differential despite being outshot by a 16.7 to 13.0 shots per match margin. FSU has attempted 39 total shots on goal during the three-match span while the opposition has generated 50 total shots.
