Community Outreach Event To Promote The Sport of Soccer in Grand Rapids

FSU Women's Soccer
The 2007 Ferris State University women's soccer team will be participating in a community outreach program Wednesday, Sept. 12, as the Bulldog women's soccer student-athletes and coaching staff members will be working with the Grand Rapids (Mich.) area Special Olympics Program.

The soccer clinic will be held from 6-8 p.m. (EDT) at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids. The objective is to create a fun-filled and exciting playing environment for kids with small-sided games. Student-athletes of the 2007 FSU women's soccer team will have an opportunity to work with children by teaching various techniques while a small demonstration of how the game is played will be conducted in both pressure and non-pressure situations.

Second-year Ferris State women's soccer head coach Neathan Gibson will be holding a clinic for youth soccer coaches to assist in providing different ideas for coaches to share with their players.
