Case compiled 18 points with six goals and 12 assists in 46 contests for the North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms. He tallied six power-play goals, one short-hander and had three game-winning lamplighters while totaling 50 penalty minutes as Youngstown registered a 27-24-4 overall regular-season record and advanced to the NAHL North Division Semifinals this past season. Case finished tied for fourth place in the NAHL among defensemen with four power-play markers.
Dahlinger skated in 2004-05 for Chatham (Ontario) of the Ontario Hockey Association’s (OHA) Western Junior B League where he helped guide the Maroons to consecutive (2003-04 and 2004-05) conference regular-season championship titles. The center/wing finished runner up among the team’s points leaders and was 10th in league scoring with 54 points on 26 goals and 28 assists in 48 outings to go with 99 penalty minutes. Dahlinger, a finalist for the league’s Best Left Wing Award, played a key part in Chatham compiling a first-place 40-6-1 overall regular-season ledger.
The two join goaltender Mitch O’Keefe (Almont, Ontario), forwards Cory Couturier (Traverse City) (pronounced Ko-cheer-e-ah), Justin Lewandowski (Naperville, Ill.), and Dan Riedel (Rochester Hills) (pronounced Rye-dell) along with defenseman Chris Zarb (Waterford) as members of the 2005-06 Bulldogs’ freshmen class.
Riedel, a 2004-05 All-United States Hockey League (USHL) First-Team honoree with the Lincoln (Neb.) Stars, was recently selected this season’s recipient of the USHL’s CCM Forward of the Year Award after accumulating a league-leading 81 points on 30 goals and 51 assists.
Ferris State registered a 13-22-4 overall record for the 2004-05 season, which included a 10th-place tying 7-17-4 mark in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA).
