Awards and Honors To Be Handed Out At Annual Post-Season Event

The Ferris State University Blue Line Club will hold its annual Ferris Hockey Awards Banquet Saturday, April 2, at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center Ballroom in Big Rapids, Mich.

The 2004-05 season-ending event will commence at 6 p.m. (EST) with a social while dinner will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. Various team and individual awards will be distributed during the program session along with speeches by the Bulldogs' six graduating seniors – Mike Brown (Calgary, Alberta), Jeff Legue (Cornwall, Ontario), Derek Nesbitt (Egmondville, Ontario), Skip Renauld (Regina, Saskatchewan), assistant captain Carter Thomson (Milden, Saskatchewan), and captain Matt York (Woodhaven) will be honored along with the entire 2004-05 squad. All six seniors were members of the Bulldogs' 2002-03 CCHA Regular-Season Championship team and the most successful team (31-10-1 overall record) in Ferris ice hockey history.

Ferris State head coach Bob Daniels will review highlights of the 2004-05 season and provide his thoughts about the Bulldog hockey team. Ferris Blue Line Club President Kevin Courtney will once again serve as the master of ceremonies.

The cost for the dinner is $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 3-8. Children under age 3 will be admitted free of charge.

Ferris State is presently 12-20-4 overall and 7-17-4 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) this season. The Bulldogs begin CCHA Tournament play this weekend (March 11-13) with first-round action at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
