FSN TO TELEVISE THIS FRIDAY'S HOCKEY GAME AT FERRIS STATE

Bulldogs To Be Showcased At Home For The First Time In 20 Years

FSN Detroit

For the first time in at least 20 years, the Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will have a home game televised live on a national scale as FSN Detroit and FSN Ohio will air this Friday's (March 3) Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Playoff First-Round contest between the Ohio State University Buckeyes and the host Bulldogs.

Game one of the best-of-three first-round series will be aired from FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich., with a 7:05 p.m. (EST) opening faceoff scheduled.

Calling the action will be FSN's Matt Shepard with analysis from Fred Pletsch. Shireen Saski will serve as the rinkside reporter.

"The opportunity to have a telecast originate from our facility is a tremendous one for this University," said Ferris State Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic. "The exposure FSN provides will take Ferris State University into millions of homes across the region and is a chance to provide a positive image of the institution which is one of the athletic program's strategic goals.

"I look forward to our fans taking advantage of this special opportunity and welcoming FOX Sports Net to our community," added Kirinovic.

The last time a home Ferris State hockey contest was televised to either a national and/or regional audience was back on Oct. 17, 1986, as the Bulldogs dropped a 3-2 league decision to Michigan State. The game was televised by the defunct Pro Am Sports System (PASS) based in Troy, Mich.
