Bulldogs Host Ohio State This Weekend In First-Round Playoff Series
The Ferris State University men’s ice hockey team begins Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Playoff action this weekend (March 3-5) as the Bulldogs host the Ohio State University Buckeyes in a best-of-three first-round series at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
A 7:05 p.m. (EST) starting time is scheduled for each league playoff contest this weekend.

| Junior Zac Pearson's game-winning goal in Saturday's overtime win at Michigan secured Ferris State home ice for this upcoming weekend's CCHA Playoff First-Round action. |
Single-game tickets for the first round of the 2006 CCHA Playoffs are $13 for adults, $9 K-12, and $6 for Ferris State students with identification. Ticket prices for groups of 20-40 are $9 apiece while groups of at least 41 people are $6 each.
Ferris' 2005-06 season ticket holders will have their regular-season seats held for purchase until this Tueday (Feb. 28) no later than 5 p.m. (EST). After that time, all remaining seats will be made available to the general public. A $4 parking fee will be assessed per vehicle and all premium parking will be honored.

If the series advances to a deciding third game, the FSU Ice Arena Ticket Office will remain open immediately following this Saturday's (March 4) game and will reopen this Sunday (March 5) from 9 a.m. to the 7:05 p.m. (EST) opening faceoff. Regular business hours for the FSU Ice Arena Ticket Office are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (EST) this week.
Ferris State, which tied for sixth place with 28 league points in the final 2005-06 CCHA regular-season standings, is presently 15-13-8 overall and 10-11-7 in the CCHA this season under 14th-year head coach Bob Daniels.
If Ferris State wins its first-round league playoff series, the Bulldogs will then advance to second-round play at the site of one of the top four-seeded teams (Miami, Michigan State, Michigan, or Northern Michigan) in another best two-of-three series.
The CCHA Playoff Championships will be conducted March 17-18 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich. The winner of the championship game earns the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to this season, the last time FSU earned home ice was in the 2002-03 campaign as the Bulldogs swept Lake Superior State in two games and advanced to the CCHA Championship game versus Michigan at Detroit's Joe Louis Arena. Ferris not only registered a school-record 31-10-1 overall mark in the 2002-03 season, but claimed its first-ever CCHA Regular-Season Championship title and received its first-ever NCAA Tournament bid.
The Bulldogs, who are the seventh seed, will be facing 10th-seeded Ohio State in CCHA Playoff action for the second consecutive season. Ferris took the Buckeyes to a deciding third game in last season's (March 11-13) first-round playoff series at OSU's Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
