Ferris State Senior Helped Bulldogs To League Series Sweep This Weekend
Ferris State University men's ice hockey senior defenseman Andrew Winnik (Mississauga, Ontario) has been named this week's (Feb. 6) Central Collegiate Hockey Association's (CCHA) Defenseman of the Week as announced by the league office.

Winnik picked up a first-period assist in last Friday's (Feb. 3) 4-2 league win at Western Michigan while registering a plus three efficiency rating in both series contest victories this past weekend versus the Broncos.
In 26 contests this season, Winnik has posted a career-high five points (0-5--5). The 6-4, 224-pound blueliner garnered a career game-high two assists against Bowling Green State earlier this campaign (10/29).
For his career, Winnik has totaled 13 points with three goals and 10 assists in 106 outings.
The Bulldogs, who are presently 14-10-6 overall and 9-8-5 in the CCHA this season, will faceoff against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this weekend (Feb. 10-11) in a league home-and-home series. This Friday's (Feb. 10) contest will take place at UND's Joyce Center in Notre Dame, Ind., with a 7:35 p.m. (EDT) start time scheduled. The two teams meet again for the final time during the 2005-06 regular season this Saturday (Feb. 11) at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
