Ferris State's Dan Riedel honored as the CCHA's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
Riedel registered his first career hat trick at Ferris State with three goals and an assist in the Bulldogs' 6-5 league triumph at Bowling Green State last Monday (Jan. 16). He scored a pair of power-play lamplighters in the contest. Riedel also posted a four-point outing at Western Michigan earlier this season (11/12) with a goal and three helpers.

The weekly CCHA honor represents the second one for Riedel this season as the 5-9, 177-pound forward earned the same recognition earlier this campaign (Nov. 14).

Riedel presently ranks third in team scoring this season with 20 points (6-14--20) and a plus seven efficiency rating in 19 contests. He has tallied seven power-play goals and one game-winning tally which occurred in Monday's (Jan. 16) victory at Bowling Green State. In the 2005-06 preseason, Riedel was tabbed as the seventh-best incoming freshmen forward by Inside College Hockey.

The Bulldogs are presently 11-8-6 overall with a seventh-place tying 6-6-5 CCHA mark to date this season. FSU sports a 3-2-2 record in its last seven contests and is currently one point shy of matching last season's 18 league points total.

Ferris State continues CCHA this week with three league encounters, starting this Tuesday (Jan. 24) versus the nationally-ranked Michigan State Spartans at MSU's Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich. The Bulldogs then host another nationally-ranked opponent in the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks this weekend (Jan. 27-28) at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich. The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. (EST) for all three of this week's CCHA contests. Tickets for the Miami series can be purchased by contacting the FSU Ice Arena Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.
