O'Keefe blocked 45-of-50 shots on goal for a .900 saves percentage in 130 minutes of action as Ferris State recorded a pair of overtime ties at Lake Superior State this past weekend (Oct. 21-22) in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. He also posted a 2.31 goals against average as three of his five goals allowed were on the power play. O'Keefe stopped a season-high 24 LSSU shots on net in Friday's (Oct. 21) CCHA-opening contest as the teams skated to a 4-4 overtime deadlock. The 6-2, 229-pound netminder then turned aside 21 of 22 Lakers' shots in Saturday's (Oct. 22) 1-1 overtime decision as the Bulldogs earned two points in the league standings as a result of the two ties.

O'Keefe, who was ranked eighth among the top incoming freshmen goaltenders this season by Inside College Hockey (INCH), presently sports a 1-0-2 record with a 2.21 goals against average (seven goals allowed) and a .889 saves percentage (56 total saves) in three between the post appearances this campaign. He picked up his first victory in a Ferris uniform with an 11-saves effort in the Bulldogs' 5-2 triumph over Army in the consolation game (Oct. 15) of the Mutual of Omaha Maverick Stampede Tournament in Omaha, Neb.

Sophomore defenseman Adam Welch (Hastings, Minn.) was the lone Bulldog to garner CCHA Rookie of the Week accolades (Dec. 13) for the 2004-05 season.

Ferris State, which is 1-1-2 overall and 0-0-2 in the CCHA this season to date, will go up against the Bowling Green State Falcons in a CCHA home-and-home series this week (Oct. 27 and 29). The Bulldogs travel to Bowling Green, Ohio this Thursday (Oct. 27) for a 7:05 p.m. (EDT) game before returning to Big Rapids Saturday (Oct. 29) to face BGSU in FSU's 2005-06 season home opener. A 7:05 p.m. (EDT) opening faceoff is scheduled for the contest at the Ewigleben Ice Arena and tickets are available by contacting the Ferris State Ice Arena Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.
