FERRIS STATE’S WEST REGIONAL OPENER TO BE TELEVISED
Bulldogs’ First-Ever NCAA Tourney Appearance To Be Shown Live Locally Along With Championship Game
This Friday’s (March 28) NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship Tournament West Regional opening-round contest between Ferris State University and the University of North Dakota will be televised live locally by Ferris Cable 7.
The game, which is scheduled to start at approximately 5:06 p.m. (EST) from the University of Minnesota’s Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., can be viewed either on Ferris Cable Channel 7 (campus) and Channel 22 on the local Charter Cable Television. This Saturday’s (March 29) regional championship contest will also be broadcast live on both local channels.
Ferris Cable 7 secured television broadcasting rights after being granted permission by the NCAA as a result of meeting the NCAA requirements of relationship with the team, coverage area, and being a non-profit station.
The Bulldogs, who received their first-ever NCAA Tournament bid last Sunday afternoon, are the tourney’s No. 2 seed while the Fighting Sioux enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed.
The second semifinal contest, which will begin at approximately 8:36 p.m. (EST), will also air live on television and will be shown by Fox Sports North. The West Region’s No. 1 seed the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hosts No. 4 seed the Mercyhurst College Lakers.
The winners of Friday’s two first-round contests will square off this Saturday (March 29) in the regional title game with opening faceoff slated for 5 p.m. (EST).
The University of Minnesota is providing live stats for all three NCAA West Regional Tournament games as an added feature and can be accessed by logging on the University of Minnesota’s Athletics website at gophersports.com.
