TOP-RANKED IRISH SKATE PAST BULLDOGS TO SWEEP TWO-GAME SET
Notre Dame was limited to one goal but that was all the Fighting Irish would need as the nation's top-ranked team skated to a 1-0 victory over Ferris State Saturday (Dec. 6) night in a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) matchup at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.

Notre Dame, which is now unbeaten in its last 12 outings (10-0-2), received a 25-save performance from goaltender Jordan Pearce and a late second-period game-winning goal by Dan Kissel to register the win.
The Fighting Irish outshot the Bulldogs, 34-25, while both teams went 0-for-5 on the power play.
Kissel scored his second goal of the season with only 2:05 remaining in the second frame as Pearce for Notre Dame and sophomore netminder Pat Nagle (Bloomfield) for Ferris State both turned in noteworthy performances between the pipes.
Nagle stopped 33 shots in defeat to fall to 4-6-1 this season while Pearce, who earned the game's first star with Nagle garnering the second, made nine of his 25-save total in the final period. Nagle turned aside 14 second-period shots and then followed up with 11 saves in the final 20 minutes of action.
Ferris State's record this season dipped to 7-8-3 overall and 6-6-2-0 in the CCHA with the setback.
