FSU Blueline Club To Sponsor Annual Post-Season Recognition Event

The Ferris State hockey team will hold its annual awards banquet on Saturday, April 4, at Big Rapids' Falcon Head Golf Club.

The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will hold its annual end-of-the-season banquet on Saturday, April 4, at the Falcon Head Golf Club in Big Rapids, Mich. The annual event is sponsored by the FSU Blueline Club.

The banquet will honor the 26 student-athletes on the 2008-09 Bulldog hockey team with a special tribute to the five seniors. Video highlights from the 2008-09 season along with the presentation of various team and individual awards will also be featured. Ferris State head coach Bob Daniels will make an observation on the Bulldogs' 2008-09 season.

A popular highlight of the awards banquet will be speeches given by the Bulldogs' five graduating seniors - Brendan Connolly (Canmore, Alberta), Corey Couturier (Traverse City), J.T. Dahlinger (Grosse Pointe Park), Evan Case (Grosse Pointe Woods), and Justin Lewandowski (Naperville, Ill.).

The banquet commences with a social from 6-6:30 p.m. (EDT) in which those attending may interact with the coaching staff and players. The social will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. (EDT) with the awards portion of the program scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).

Cost for the awards banquet is $20 per person and $10 for children under age 12.

Ferris State is presently 12-17-7 overall this season and placed ninth in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) regular-season standings with a 9-14-5-2 CCHA mark (25 league points).

The Bulldogs will open the first round of the 2009 CCHA Playoffs next weekend, March 6-8, against the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks in Omaha, Neb. Starting times for the best-of-three series at the Qwest Center Omaha have yet to be announced.
