FERRIS LISTED 39TH IN INSIDE COLLEGE HOCKEY'S POWER RANKINGS

Inside College Hockey's Releases Its 2007-08 Preseason Rankings

The Ferris State University menís ice hockey team is ranked 39th in the 2007-08 Inside College Hockey (INCH) Power Rankings which were recently released by the online college hockey publication.

The Inside College Hockey editors and staff ranked the nation's top teams.

A total of 59 teams were ranked with North Dakota receiving the top billing followed by Boston College and Miami (Ohio) of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). The rankings among the remaining 11 CCHA teams were as follows - Michigan State (fourth), Notre Dame (sixth), Michigan (12th), Ohio State (19th), Nebraska Omaha (24th), Western Michigan (29th), Lake Superior State (31st), Ferris State (39th), Northern Michigan (41st), Alaska (44th), and Bowling Green State (52nd).

Along with the 39th-place ranking, the INCH staff made this statement about Ferris State - "The good news is that the Bulldogs have a reliable defense and strong goaltending. The bad news is you can't win games without scoring goals."

Ferris State, under 16th-year head coach Bob Daniels, was listed 30th in Inside College Hockey's 2006-07 preseason rankings.

The 2007-08 season represents the 30th anniversary for the Ferris State men's ice hockey program as a NCAA Division I level participant.

Ferris State, which is currently 0-2-0 overall for the 2007-08 campaign, will open the home portion of its season schedule this weekend (Oct. 19-20) taking on the Wayne State University Warriors in a two-game non-league series at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich. The puck will drop for this Friday's (Oct. 19) opener at 7:05 p.m. (EDT) while Saturday's (Oct. 14) encounter will commence at 5:05 p.m. (EDT). Wayne State was listed 55th by the online publication.

Hockey reserved single-game tickets are currently on sale and prices are $12 (adult), $8 (K-12) and $5 (FSU students) for all games with the exception of the two premier CCHA contests against Michigan State (Dec. 7) and Michigan (March 1). The premier game tickets, which will be $16 apiece, will go on sale this upcoming Monday, Oct. 22. Six 2007-08 home contests have been designated as family nights and consist of four tickets to the game, four soft drinks and two popcorns all for only $32.

Tickets for all 2007-08 Bulldog Hockey regular-season home games can be purchased through an agreement with Star Tickets Plus and are available at all West Michigan Meijer stores, online at www.starticketsplus.com or by calling (800) 585-3737. In addition, fans can also contact the FSU Athletics Ticket Office inside the ice arena directly Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EDT) at (231) 591-2888. However, phone orders for single-game tickets must be purchased through Star Tickets Plus.
