Sharon (Sanders) Bade
Volleyball, 1981-84
Bade earned second-team All-American honors in 1984 after leading the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division II Tournament and a 48-3 finish. During that season, she compiled 1,440 assists from her setter position and helped Ferris put together a 46-match winning streak that still stands as the longest Division II streak in NCAA history. A four-year letter winner, she was a three-time all-conference performer. FSU won three straight conference titles and 33-consecutive GLIAC matches with Bade at the controls. She finished her career as the school leader in assists with 4,954 and remains second on the all-time chart. The Saginaw native was the first of 10 FSU volleyball All-Americans. In her four years, FSU compiled a 150-45 record and finished as the nation's eighth best team three straight seasons. She serves as Frankenmuth High School volleyball coach.
