Bernie Kilpatrick
Basketball, 1961-65

The only two-time Ferris All-American basketball player, Kilpatrick was a NAIA Third-Team All-American in 1962-63 and honorable mention All-American in 1963-64. He was chosen as 1965 Bulldog of the Year and was captain of the 1962-65 teams. He led Coach Jim Wink's squads in scoring and rebounding three straight seasons as the Bulldogs posted a 52-17 record. Kilpatrick averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds three straight years to rank fifth in team history in points (1,839), second in rebounds (999) and third in field goals (752). The Detroit Northern graduate later played two years with the Muskegon Panthers of the Midwest Pro League. A Wayne County Commissioner from 1983-90, Kilpatrick was formerly Assistant Wayne County Executive for Health & Community Services and now serves as Chief of Staff for the Wayne County Executive Office.
