WOMEN'S GOLF TAKES 10TH AT SALUKI INVITATIONAL
Bulldogs Finish Two Strokes Out Of Ninth Place

The Ferris State women's golf team finished in 10th place of 14 teams at the 11th annual Southern Illinois Saluki Invitational after registering a final-round 344 team score in Monday's play (March 28) on the par 72, 6,017-yard Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Ill.
The Bulldogs, who carded a 346-stroke total in Sunday's (March 27) opening-round action, finished just two strokes behind ninth-place Southwest Missouri State (347-341--688). Host Southern Illinois won its home tourney for the second time in four years as the Salukis posted a two-round 626 score (316-310--626).
Last season, Ferris placed 13th of 17 teams at the Saluki Invite as a result of generating a 36-hole 689 score (346-343--689).
Junior Elena Robles was the Bulldogs' top performer with a 168 (85-83--168), which was good for a 32nd-place tie. Freshmen Becky Hoffman (87-82--169) finished tied for 35th and frosh Missy Ward totaled a 176 (85-91--176) to garner a 56th-place tie.
Sophomore Casey McKinnon fired a 178 (89-89--178) to place tied for 62nd while fellow sophomore Heidi Aittama's 180-stroke total (90-90--180) tied her for 67th place.
Sophomore Ashley Wolfe rounded out the Ferris scoring with a 201-stroke total (96-105--201) to claim 89th place.
