FERRIS STATE FINISHES NINTH IN OWN BULLDOG INVITATIONAL

The Ferris State women's golf team carded a 344 in the final round to place ninth with a 685 total in the annual Bulldog Invitational on Sunday (Aug. 31) at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.
Ferris, which shot a 341 in Saturday's (Aug. 30) opening round, was led by sophomore Elena Robles' 167 total. Robles posted an 86 in the opening round and an 81 in the final round to tie for 23rd place overall.
Other Ferris State participants included freshman Heidi Aittama (84-84---168), sophomore Casey McKinnon (83-86--169), senior Ellie Saladin (88-93--181), junior Meredith Johnson (93-93--186) and junior Rachael Peterson (88-100--188).
Grand Valley State captured the invitational championship with a two-round score of 621 followed by Nebraska-Omaha (624) and DePauw (640). Nineteen teams participated in the two-day event.
The Bulldogs will return to action this Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 1-2) at the GVSU Lady Laker Fall Classic in Allendale, Mich.
